About this dive site

A crescent volcanic crater with clear central Pacific water.

Molokini's submerged rim shelters reef fish, morays and occasional whitetip sharks on the outer wall while the inside stays calm for beginners. Early boats from Maui beat afternoon trade-wind chop and crowds. Protected status limits operators, book a reputable charter and respect no-touch rules.

Most trips target April - October, but wind, swell and current still decide the day's site. Calendar peak is April - October, but skippers still move sites when wind, swell or current change. Book with a crew that knows Molokini Crater day to day, not just the map pin.
