About this dive site
Golden kelp, orange garibaldi and California sea lions off the Channel Islands.
East Anacapa’s Landing Cove offers access to the Channel Islands’ temperate underwater landscape: swaying kelp, rocky ledges and bright garibaldi. California sea lions and harbour seals use the island’s shores, though encounters in the water are never guaranteed. Arrange an appropriate dive boat and plan for cold water, surge and changing visibility. The island has no lifeguards or routine visitor services, and protected-area rules apply.
Most trips target January - December, but wind, swell and current still decide the day's site. Calendar peak is January - December, but skippers still move sites when wind, swell or current change. Book with a crew that knows Anacapa Island day to day, not just the map pin.
