About this dive site
Anemone-covered walls and Atlantic wolffish in the Berwickshire Marine Reserve.
From St Abbs harbour, nearby rocky reefs reveal kelp, ledges and walls packed with marine life. Big Green Carr is a recognised shore circuit, with cracks sheltering lobsters and occasional Atlantic wolffish. Conditions, entry and exit require local advice: surge and tide can complicate an otherwise shallow route. Use a torch to look into crevices without disturbing residents, and choose a guided shore or boat dive appropriate to your UK cold-water experience.
Most trips target January - December, but wind, swell and current still decide the day's site. Calendar peak is January - December, but skippers still move sites when wind, swell or current change. Book with a crew that knows St Abbs day to day, not just the map pin.
