About this dive site

An Andaman pinnacle of critters with occasional whale-shark luck.

Richelieu Rock rises from open sea as a horseshoe of soft corals, anemones and swarming fish. Macro life hides in every crevice, harlequin shrimp, ghost pipefish and nudibranchs reward slow passes. Whale sharks sometimes visit on plankton-rich days, but the everyday magic is the dense, colourful reef itself.

Go slow, stay off the bottom, and follow a local macro guide - silt and fin kicks ruin shots and habitats. Calendar peak is October - May, but skippers still move sites when wind, swell or current change. Book with a crew that knows Richelieu Rock day to day, not just the map pin.
