About this dive site

The Mediterranean reserve where fish biomass bounced back.

Off L'Estartit on the Costa Brava, the Illes Medes are a no-take zone with dense groupers, barracuda and gorgonians. Permit dives only via licensed boats; visibility varies with weather.

Most trips target May - October, but wind, swell and current still decide the day's site. Calendar peak is May - October, but skippers still move sites when wind, swell or current change. Book with a crew that knows Medes Islands Marine Reserve day to day, not just the map pin.
