About this dive site
Volcanic ledges, dense fish schools and angelsharks on sandy patches.
El Cabrón lies beside Arinaga on Gran Canaria’s east coast. Shore routes explore volcanic rock, ledges and sand, with large schools of fish and occasional angelsharks among the highlights reported by local guides. The central reef offers recreational-depth multi-level dives, while other routes can be deeper or more exposed. A rocky entry and changing wind and surge make local site selection important. Keep above the sand, never uncover a buried shark and let wildlife determine the distance of an encounter.
Shore sites reward repeat dives at the same entry marker; check swell, surf and exit points before you kit up. Calendar peak is January - December, but skippers still move sites when wind, swell or current change. Book with a crew that knows Gran Canaria day to day, not just the map pin.
