About this dive site
White seabream schools and rocky reefs beyond Peniche.
The Berlengas islands lie offshore from Peniche, where Atlantic water meets steep rock, gullies and sheltered coves. Berlenga Grande provides a scenic base for boat diving, with white seabream schools and occasional ocean sunfish among the local highlights. Cold water, swell and current can change the plan quickly. Book with a local operator, select a route suited to your experience and check island access arrangements separately from dive bookings.
Most trips target April - December, but wind, swell and current still decide the day's site. Calendar peak is April - December, but skippers still move sites when wind, swell or current change. Book with a crew that knows Berlengas day to day, not just the map pin.
