About this dive site

A Norwegian house reef celebrated for its variety of sea slugs.

Gulen Dive Resort’s house reef contains several depth zones and habitats that attract divers interested in small marine life. Slow, careful searches of the shallows can reveal colourful nudibranchs such as Polycera quadrilineata. Species and abundance change through the year, so plan with the local team rather than expecting a fixed checklist. Cold water calls for suitable exposure protection and buoyancy control; photograph animals in place without moving them.

Go slow, stay off the bottom, and follow a local macro guide - silt and fin kicks ruin shots and habitats. Calendar peak is January - December, but skippers still move sites when wind, swell or current change. Book with a crew that knows Gulen day to day, not just the map pin.
