About this dive site
Mozambique reefs where mantas may visit cleaning stations.
Off Tofo and Inhambane, submerged pinnacles and reef ledges occasionally draw reef mantas to cleaner wrasse stations when plankton is rich. Humpback whales pass in season; whale sharks are usually snorkel encounters on the surface rather than part of a routine scuba profile. Deep profiles and current require solid planning.
Manta cleaning stations need calm positioning - let your guide set the line and keep a respectful distance. Calendar peak is January - December, but skippers still move sites when wind, swell or current change. Book with a crew that knows Tofo day to day, not just the map pin.
