A limestone blue hole cavern opening to the open Pacific.
The Grotto is Saipan’s signature dive-a sinkhole linked to the ocean by tunnels where divers meet reef sharks, barracuda and strong surge on the outside wall. Descent requires careful buoyancy and a guide for first visits.
Most trips target December - May, but wind, swell and current still decide the day's site. Calendar peak is December - May, but skippers still move sites when wind, swell or current change. Book with a crew that knows Saipan day to day, not just the map pin.
