National park reef between Cancún and Playa with healthy shallow coral.
Puerto Morelos National Reef Park protects a narrow band of coral east of the fishing village. Snorkel and dive boats use permitted moorings where parrotfish, angelfish and occasional rays patrol the spur-and-groove reef. It is a calmer alternative to busy Cancún hotel-zone sites.
