About this dive site
Playful California sea lions in the Sea of Cortez.
Los Islotes north of La Paz is a rocky rookery where young sea lions swirl around snorkelers and divers in shallow, sunny water. It is an ideal morale dive between Baja pelagic trips or whale seasons. Respect distance rules during pup season and follow Mexican park guidance.
Most trips target January - December, but wind, swell and current still decide the day's site. Calendar peak is January - December, but skippers still move sites when wind, swell or current change. Book with a crew that knows La Paz day to day, not just the map pin.
