About this dive site

Other-worldly hydrogen-sulphide bells on a guided cavern route.

Cenote Zapote is famous for bell-shaped formations in a hydrogen-sulphide layer on advanced cavern lines near Puerto Morelos and the Riviera interior. Gas planning, guide credentials and cavern certification are mandatory. Not a casual open-water substitute for ocean dives.

Zapote (Hells Bells) is advanced cavern diving; do not book without proper certification and a qualified guide.
