The C-56 Juan Escutia is a navy vessel sunk as an artificial reef north of Puerto Morelos with strong coral encrustation and schooling fish. Depth and occasional current suit advanced divers; penetration only with appropriate certification and guides.
The C-56 sits deeper off the Puerto Morelos corridor; watch depth, nitrogen and occasional current on the ascent line.
