About this dive site
Mexico's largest coral atoll with wrecks, walls and expedition diving.
Banco Chinchorro Biosphere Reserve is an atoll east of Mahahual reachable only on permitted liveaboard or long day boats. Shallow elkhorn gives way to drop-offs, historic shipwrecks and strong currents when swell is up. Biosphere rules, park fees and weather windows gate every trip.
Chinchorro requires biosphere permits and experienced crews; this is expedition diving, not a Cancún hotel-zone add-on.
