About this dive site
Quintana Roo’s famous snorkel bay for grazing green turtles.
Half Moon Bay at Akumal sits between Playa del Carmen and Tulum where turtles feed on seagrass in calm water. Shore-access snorkels and guided dives run along the bay and nearby cenote-country reefs with strict wildlife spacing rules.
Most trips target May - September, but wind, swell and current still decide the day's site. Calendar peak is May - September, but skippers still move sites when wind, swell or current change. Book with a crew that knows Akumal day to day, not just the map pin.
