About this dive site

A scuttled tanker wreck off Wied iz-Zurrieq near the Blue Grotto.

The Um El Faroud was sunk as a diver’s wreck after a tragic explosion in Valletta harbour. It rests upright off Qrendi with swim-throughs, silversides shoals in summer and easy pairing with Malta’s inland caves and reefs.

Match wreck depth - and any penetration - to your training; many famous wrecks are enjoyed from the outside only. Calendar peak is May - October, but skippers still move sites when wind, swell or current change. Book with a crew that knows Malta day to day, not just the map pin.
