Big-fish channels and resort diving on the archipelago's eastern rim.
Maratua Atoll wraps a deep lagoon with channel dives where trevally, sharks and rays gather on incoming tide. Access is by flight to Berau and boat transfer — usually bundled with Sangalaki and Kakaban.
Maratua channels run on tide; liveaboards bundle transfers — not a solo day trip from Bali.
