About this dive site
Caribbean walls and macro surprises on Honduras’s largest island.
Roatán’s west end blends fringing reef, cracks and walls with seahorses, pipefish and cleaning stations if you slow down with a macro guide. Dolphins and eagle rays appear on luckier days; everyday dives bring angelfish, sponges and healthy coral heads. Current is usually mild compared with mainland Caribbean drifts.
Go slow, stay off the bottom, and follow a local macro guide - silt and fin kicks ruin shots and habitats. Calendar peak is January - December, but skippers still move sites when wind, swell or current change. Book with a crew that knows Roatán day to day, not just the map pin.
