About this dive site

Protected Aegean islands, seagrass and the habitat of the Mediterranean monk seal.

Alonissos is a base for guided diving in the Northern Sporades marine park, where rocky coasts and seagrass share space with important archaeological sites. The protected Mediterranean monk seal lives in the wider park, but an encounter is a rare possibility rather than a dive promise. Observe all exclusion zones and never enter seal resting caves. Visits to the Peristera ancient wreck are a separate regulated experience requiring an approved centre and appropriate certification.

Most trips target May - December, but wind, swell and current still decide the day's site. Calendar peak is May - December, but skippers still move sites when wind, swell or current change. Book with a crew that knows Alonissos day to day, not just the map pin.
