About this dive site
A historic Red Sea wreck alive with fish and photo opportunities.
The SS Thistlegorm’s trucks, motorcycles and locomotives sit encrusted with corals while batfish, trevally and crocodilefish haunt the decks. Current and visibility vary with tide; early morning dives often win the clearest water. Penetration requires proper training, guides and gas planning, many divers enjoy the exterior alone.
Match wreck depth - and any penetration - to your training; many famous wrecks are enjoyed from the outside only. Calendar peak is March - November, but skippers still move sites when wind, swell or current change. Book with a crew that knows SS Thistlegorm day to day, not just the map pin.
