About this dive site
Sheer walls, a legendary saddle and summer fish storms.
Shark Reef and Yolanda Reef form Ras Mohammed’s signature drift: a vertical wall, sandy saddle and coral plateau stacked with anthias and batfish. In summer, huge schools of snapper and batfish can darken the water above the wreckage of Yolanda’s cargo. Strong currents are common, this is a guided drift for confident divers.
Wall and drift dives need a tide- or current-aware briefing; the same site can feel gentle or brisk on another day. Calendar peak is June - September, but skippers still move sites when wind, swell or current change. Book with a crew that knows Shark & Yolanda Reef day to day, not just the map pin.
