About this dive site

A narrow Red Sea reef famous for colour, current and predators.

Elphinstone's twin plateaus sit offshore between Marsa Alam and the open Red Sea, stacked with soft corals, anthias and longnose hawkfish. Grey reef sharks cruise the tips; oceanic whitetips and thresher sharks appear on luckier days. Current splits the site, choose the lee with your guide.

Most trips target March - November, but wind, swell and current still decide the day's site. Calendar peak is March - November, but skippers still move sites when wind, swell or current change. Book with a crew that knows Elphinstone Reef day to day, not just the map pin.
