About this dive site
Galápagos hammerhead adrenaline inside a submerged crater.
Gordon Rocks near Santa Cruz is a collapsed cone where ripping currents pull scalloped hammerheads, Galápagos sharks and thick fish schools through the arena. This is not a checkout dive, experience, good buoyancy and a strong guide matter. Morning dives often win the clearest water.
Open-water and liveaboard schedules hinge on swell and current - expect early starts and flexible routing. Calendar peak is December - May, but skippers still move sites when wind, swell or current change. Book with a crew that knows Gordon Rocks day to day, not just the map pin.
