About this dive site
Caribbean reef and seagrass with green and hawksbill turtles.
Bayahibe is a boat-diving base for the Dominican Republic’s southeast coast and the waters near Cotubanamá National Park. Peñón Reef is among the local sites associated with green and hawksbill turtles, alongside typical Caribbean coral and reef fish. Operators select routes according to visibility, swell and diver experience. Reefs, wrecks and caves are distinct itineraries: stay within your qualification and do not enter overhead environments on an ordinary reef excursion.
Most trips target December - May, but wind, swell and current still decide the day's site. Calendar peak is December - May, but skippers still move sites when wind, swell or current change. Book with a crew that knows Bayahibe day to day, not just the map pin.
