About this dive site

A hurricane-sunk 1865 steamship wrapped in coral and history.

The RMS Rhone split across Salt and Dead Chest islands during an 1867 hurricane. Divers swim the intact bow, propeller, and cargo holds where the film *The Deep* was shot-usually as a two-tank boat day from Tortola or Virgin Gorda.

Match wreck depth - and any penetration - to your training; many famous wrecks are enjoyed from the outside only. Calendar peak is December - May, but skippers still move sites when wind, swell or current change. Book with a crew that knows RMS Rhone day to day, not just the map pin.
