About this dive site
Belize’s largest atoll with current-swept elkhorn and big fish.
Turneffe Atoll sits east of Belize City with drift dives at The Elbow where jacks, sharks and eagle rays stack in blue water. Liveaboards and lodges on the atoll pair wall mornings with lagoon bonefish flats.
Wall and drift dives need a tide- or current-aware briefing; the same site can feel gentle or brisk on another day. Calendar peak is April - June, but skippers still move sites when wind, swell or current change. Book with a crew that knows Turneffe Atoll day to day, not just the map pin.
