About this dive site

Shallow patch reef north of San Pedro with elkhorn and easy wildlife.

Mexico Rocks is a field of coral heads and sand channels roughly 20 minutes north of San Pedro Town. Elkhorn and brain corals rise from white sand while lobsters, morays and reef fish shelter in the grooves. It is a favourite snorkel and second-dive site when wind makes outer walls sporty.

Mexico Rocks is a shallow patch run from San Pedro when outer walls are blown out; lobsters and morays hide in the coral grooves, so a slow pass beats racing the sand channels. April-June often has the calmest boat rides north of town.
