About this dive site
San Pedro favourite for coral canyons, turtles and reef sharks on the drop-off.
Esmeralda sits on the barrier reef east of San Pedro where spur-and-groove coral forms wide sand chutes. Hawksbill and green turtles feed along the wall while Caribbean reef sharks and eagle rays pass in blue water on calmer days. Most operators schedule it as a morning two-tank site when wind is light.
Esmeralda is a morning wall-and-canyon site east of San Pedro; pick it when wind is light and you want turtles and reef sharks without the Hol Chan snorkel fleet.
