About this dive site
Remote north Ambergris cuts near Basil Jones Caye and Bacalar Chico approaches.
Basil Jones Canyons lie on the northern barrier reef toward the Belize–Mexico border, often reached on long day boats from San Pedro or Sarteneja. Current-swept walls bring eagle rays, reef sharks and large groupers when conditions cooperate. Reserve boundaries and weather windows matter more here than at in-town moorings.
Basil Jones is remote north Ambergris/Bacalar territory; expect full-day logistics, reserve rules and current-aware wall diving.
