About this dive site

Seagrass, limestone reef and green turtles off Western Australia.

Wadjemup / Rottnest Island sits offshore from Perth, where the Leeuwin Current helps tropical and temperate marine life overlap. Sheltered bays reveal seagrass and reef fish, while guided boat dives explore limestone formations and offshore reef. Green turtles are among the island’s marine residents. The exposed coast can be affected by swell and wind, so choose the day’s route with a local operator and stay within your training when considering swim-throughs.

Most trips target January - December, but wind, swell and current still decide the day's site. Calendar peak is January - December, but skippers still move sites when wind, swell or current change. Book with a crew that knows Rottnest Island day to day, not just the map pin.
