About this dive site

Northern Great Barrier Reef ribbons of coral along the outer edge.

The Ribbon Reefs stretch north of Cairns and Port Douglas as a chain of coral gardens, walls and cod holes on liveaboard routes. Dwarf minke season brings in-water encounters on some trips; everyday diving delivers turtles, sharks and dense reef fish. Weather and permits shape each week’s site list.

Most trips target May - November, but wind, swell and current still decide the day's site. Calendar peak is May - November, but skippers still move sites when wind, swell or current change. Book with a crew that knows Great Barrier Reef day to day, not just the map pin.
