About this dive site

Tropical and temperate wildlife meet around two offshore rocky islets.

Nguthungulli Julian Rocks sits off Byron Bay inside Cape Byron Marine Park. Shallow nursery areas suit guided introductions when conditions allow, while deeper gutters attract grey nurse sharks. Warm-season leopard sharks and loggerhead turtles make this a varied wildlife destination. Boat access, surge and current mean the operator selects the route each day. Follow the marine park’s grey nurse shark code and give resting animals space.

Most trips target January - December, but wind, swell and current still decide the day's site. Calendar peak is January - December, but skippers still move sites when wind, swell or current change. Book with a crew that knows Byron Bay day to day, not just the map pin.
